A Royal Order was issued today establishing a complex called the Complex of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the Prophet's Hadith with Madinah as its headquarters.
The order stated that the complex shall have a scholarly council that includes the elite of the scholars of Hadith in the world. Its president and members shall be appointed by a royal decree.
The order appointed Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hassan Al-Sheikh, member of the Senior Scholars Council, as Chairman of the Scholarly Council of the complex.
The order highlighted the great status of the Prophet's Sunnah among Muslims as it is the second source of Islamic legislation after the Holy Quran. The order stated that the complex is a continuation of the state's service to Islamic law and its sources and underlined the importance of the existence of a body concerned with the service of the Prophet's Hadith and its sciences including collection, classification, investigation and study.
