Riyadh- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been elected as a member of the Executive Council of the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) for the next two years at the 34th session of the General Assembly held on 27-28 / 6/2018 in Cairo under the chairmanship of the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation in Republic of Egypt Dr. Ezzeddin Abu Setit in the presence of a number of Arab Ministers of Agriculture, representatives of a number of organizations, the Arab League, and Saudi Undersecretary for Environment Affairs Dr Osama bin Ibrahim Faqiha on behalf of the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture.
The meetings dealt with many topics related to works and activities of the Center for the next phase, as well as the joint Arab work towards achieving sustainable agricultural development and maximizing the use of the Center and its efforts in implementing important projects, activities and studies.
During his meeting with the Director General of the Center Dr. Rafiq Saleh, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment and the accompanying delegation discussed means of developing cooperation between the Kingdom and the Center in light of KSA's directions in the field of agricultural development and food security according to the KSA'S Transformational programs, its Vision 2030 and the Ministry's initiatives in this regard.
