Dammam - Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Eastern Region, will inaugurate next Wednesday at the Governorate's office in Dammam, Oxford Aviation Academy as a first phase of the Saudi Academy of Civil Aviation, in the presence of members of the leadership of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
In addition to signing five agreements between local aviation companies and Oxford Academy to graduate male and female pilots and maintenance engineers.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Oxford Aviation Academy Othman Al-Mutairi, said that the graduation of the first batch of Saudi male and female pilots will be in 2020, pointing out that the Academy has so far enrolled 375 students from inside and outside the Kingdom and started the preparatory study since last week, whereas the registration in the Academy is still open for the next period.
He also pointed out that there is an urgent need to graduate a number of Saudi pilots to operate aircraft in 27 airports and five local airlines, stressing that the Academy is working to graduate 400 pilots and 600 technicians annually.
