أكد سفير جمهورية صربيا لدى المملكة دراجان بيزينيتش، أن العلاقات السعودية الصربية تشهد توسعاً متسارعاً في مختلف مجالات التعاون، مشيراً إلى أن اتفاقية الإعفاء المتبادل من التأشيرات لحاملي الجوازات الدبلوماسية والرسمية وجوازات الخدمة تمثل خطوة جديدة نحو تعزيز الحوار والتواصل بين البلدين.
وقال السفير بيزينيتش لـ«عكاظ» إن الإعفاء من التأشيرات لحاملي الجوازات الدبلوماسية والرسمية وجوازات الخدمة يمثل «بداية لمسار» من شأنه أن يتيح مستقبلاً لجميع مواطني البلدين السفر والتواصل بسهولة أكبر، لافتاً إلى أهمية هذه الخطوة في ظل الفرص المتنامية لتعزيز التعاون السعودي الصربي في مختلف المجالات.
وجاء توقيع الاتفاقية خلال لقاء نائب وزير الخارجية المهندس وليد بن عبدالكريم الخريجي، وزير خارجية صربيا ماركو دجوريتش، في العاصمة بلغراد، في خطوة أكد السفير أنها ستسهم في تسهيل حركة التواصل وتعزيز الحوار والتعاون بين البلدين خلال المرحلة القادمة.
وأوضح بيزينيتش أن استضافة صربيا معرض «إكسبو 2027 بلغراد»، واستضافة المملكة «إكسبو 2030 الرياض»، تفتحان آفاقاً واسعة أمام البلدين للاستفادة من الخبرات والمعارف والعلاقات التي ستنشأ عن الحدثين، وتحويلها إلى مشاريع ومبادرات وأشكال جديدة من التعاون الثنائي.
وكشف السفير أن المملكة وقعت بالفعل عقد مشاركتها في «إكسبو 2027 بلغراد»، وستقيم أحد أكبر الأجنحة الوطنية في المعرض، في موقع متميز عند مدخل منطقة إكسبو، مبيناً أن المشاركة السعودية ستتيح للمملكة استعراض إمكاناتها التنموية، وابتكاراتها، وثقافتها، وفرصها الاستثمارية والتجارية، إلى جانب الترويج لـ«إكسبو 2030 الرياض».
وعلى الصعيد الاقتصادي، أشار بيزينيتش إلى النمو اللافت الذي يشهده التعاون بين البلدين، موضحاً أن حجم التبادل التجاري والاقتصادي بين السعودية وصربيا بلغ بنهاية عام 2025 نحو 121 مليون دولار، بزيادة تعادل تسعة أضعاف مستواه في عام 2012، فيما ارتفع خلال النصف الأول من عام 2026 إلى 130.4 مليون دولار، محققاً نمواً بنسبة 152% مقارنة بالفترة ذاتها من العام السابق.
ونقل السفير إشادة وزير الخارجية الصربي بما حققته المملكة في إطار «رؤية السعودية 2030»، بعد اطلاعه على جوانب من مسيرة التحول التنموي التي تشهدها المملكة خلال زيارته إلى الرياض العام الماضي، إلى جانب توجيهه الشكر للمؤسسات السعودية على تعاونها ودعمها في إجلاء مواطنين صرب خلال الأحداث الأخيرة التي شهدتها منطقة الشرق الأوسط.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Kingdom, Dragan Bizinich, confirmed that Saudi-Serbian relations are witnessing rapid expansion in various fields of cooperation, pointing out that the agreement on mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, official, and service passports represents a new step towards enhancing dialogue and communication between the two countries.
Ambassador Bizinich told "Okaz" that the visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, official, and service passports represents "the beginning of a path" that will eventually allow all citizens of both countries to travel and communicate more easily, highlighting the importance of this step in light of the growing opportunities to enhance Saudi-Serbian cooperation in various fields.
The signing of the agreement took place during a meeting between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Engineer Walid bin Abdul Karim Al-Khuraiji and Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric in the capital, Belgrade, a step that the ambassador confirmed will contribute to facilitating communication and enhancing dialogue and cooperation between the two countries in the upcoming phase.
Bizinich explained that Serbia's hosting of the "Expo 2027 Belgrade" and the Kingdom's hosting of "Expo 2030 Riyadh" open wide horizons for both countries to benefit from the experiences, knowledge, and relationships that will arise from the two events, transforming them into projects, initiatives, and new forms of bilateral cooperation.
The ambassador revealed that the Kingdom has already signed its participation contract for "Expo 2027 Belgrade" and will establish one of the largest national pavilions at the exhibition, in a prominent location at the entrance to the Expo area, indicating that Saudi participation will allow the Kingdom to showcase its developmental capabilities, innovations, culture, and investment and commercial opportunities, alongside promoting "Expo 2030 Riyadh."
On the economic front, Bizinich pointed to the remarkable growth in cooperation between the two countries, explaining that the volume of trade and economic exchange between Saudi Arabia and Serbia reached approximately $121 million by the end of 2025, an increase equivalent to nine times its level in 2012, while it rose during the first half of 2026 to $130.4 million, achieving a growth rate of 152% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The ambassador conveyed the Serbian Foreign Minister's praise for what the Kingdom has achieved within the framework of "Saudi Vision 2030," after he was briefed on aspects of the developmental transformation that the Kingdom is witnessing during his visit to Riyadh last year, in addition to expressing his gratitude to Saudi institutions for their cooperation and support in evacuating Serbian citizens during the recent events in the Middle East.
