In a step aimed at facilitating arrival procedures and enhancing digital transformation at land ports, the Ministry of Interior today launched the (Absher Travel for Visitors) service for those arriving through all land ports of the Kingdom, including citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and visitors, electronically via the (Absher) application.
The service was launched in partnership with several ministries and government entities, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Communications, Space and Technology Authority, the Insurance Authority, the General Directorate of Passports, and Public Security.
The service contributes to facilitating the entry procedures for travelers and their vehicles automatically by completing requirements and finalizing procedures digitally before reaching the port, which includes registering the traveler's and vehicle's data and completing vehicle insurance procedures, with the service becoming mandatory six months after its launch.
The Ministry of Interior clarified that benefiting from the service is done by accessing (Absher Travel for Visitors) in the application before the travel date, selecting nationality, entering the mobile number and type of travel document, then specifying the port and expected arrival date, and completing the traveler's and vehicle's data and insurance.
This initiative is part of the Ministry of Interior's efforts to develop digital services provided to visitors of the Kingdom, improve the travel experience, and enhance the efficiency of procedures at land ports, thereby improving service quality and ease of access to the Kingdom.
