The guidelines for establishing winter camps have excluded the use of traditional tents and fabrics with bright colors, as well as metal barriers ("Shinko"), within standards aimed at improving the urban landscape, preserving the natural environment, and enhancing the appeal of winter tourism.
"Okaz" has observed the issuance of a number of guidelines by several municipalities, including those of Hail and Taif, to organize winter camps, which include requirements for visual identity, design, landscaping, lighting, and furniture, in line with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing's directives to improve the urban landscape.
The guidelines specify fabric tents in beige, brown, and sandy colors, pathways made from natural materials, seating areas, and wooden furniture, while adopting warm lighting and landscaping with desert plants that require little water, such as Sidr, Ghaf, Athal, Salam, and cactus. The regulations also include organizing seating and hospitality areas, pathways, parking lots, installing canopies, and providing safety and fire prevention requirements.
