أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب، أمس (الثلاثاء) أمام الكونغرس في خطابه الأول عن حالة الاتحاد أنه وقّع مرسوما يقضي بإبقاء معتقل غوانتانامو مفتوحا، ليسدل بذلك الستارة على المحاولات العديدة التي بذلها سلفه باراك أوباما لإغلاق هذا السجن.

وقال ترمب «اليوم أفي بوعد آخر» من وعود الحملة الانتخابية، مضيفا «لقد وقّعت لتوّي مرسوما يأمر» وزير الدفاع جيم ماتيس «بإعادة النظر بسياستنا المتعلقة بالاحتجاز العسكري وبابقاء المنشآت السجنية في غوانتانامو مفتوحة».
