استنفرت استعدادات الفلسطينيين لـ«جمعة الكاوتشوك»، التي أعلنوا عنها الأيام الماضية الاحتلال الإسرائيلي أمس (الجمعة)، واندلعت مواجهات بين مئات المتظاهرين الفلسطينيين، الذين أشعلوا عشرات إطارات السيارات، وجيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي الذي أطلق الرصاص وقنابل الغاز المسيل للدموع قرب السياج الحدودي الذي يفصل بين إسرائيل وقطاع غزة، ما أسفر عن مقتل 3 متظاهرين وإصابة 250 آخرين. وأوضح شهود عيان أن المتظاهرين تجمعوا شرقي مدينة غزة على بعد عشرات الأمتار من السياج الحدودي، وأشعلوا عشرات من إطارات السيارات ورشقوا بالحجارة جنود الاحتلال الذين أطلقوا الرصاص وعشرات من قنابل الغاز المسيل للدموع. وأشارت مصادر إلى أن مئات المتظاهرين أشعلوا أيضا عشرات إطارات السيارات قرب الحدود شرقي جباليا (شمالي القطاع)، وكذلك شرقي مخيم البريج (وسط) وشرقي خان يونس ورفح في جنوبي القطاع. في غضون ذلك، طالب مكتب الأمم المتحدة لحقوق الإنسان إسرائيل أمس بضمان عدم استخدام قوات الأمن القوة المفرطة مع المحتجين الفلسطينيين عند الحدود بين قطاع غزة وإسرائيل. وذكرت المتحدثة باسم المكتب إليزابيث ثروسل، أنه ينبغي عدم استخدام الأسلحة النارية إلا كملاذ أخير، وأن اللجوء غير المبرر لاستخدامها قد يصل لمستوى قتل المدنيين عمدا وانتهاك معاهدة جنيف الرابعة.

في السياق نفسه، أعلن مسؤولو وزارة الصحة أن فلسطينيا توفي أمس متأثرا بإصابته قبل أسبوع أثناء احتجاجات على حدود القطاع. وبهذا يرتفع عدد قتلى المواجهات التي اندلعت في 30 مارس مع جنود الاحتلال إلى 23. ويهدف الفلسطينيون من إشعال الإطارات إلى إيجاد ساتر من الدخان يمنع جنود الاحتلال من إطلاق النار على المتظاهرين.
