تصاعدت حدة الاشتباكات بين القوة المشتركة المساندة للجيش السوداني وقوات الدعم السريع في ولايتي شمال وغرب دارفور، خلال الساعات الماضية.
وأكدت مصادر سودانية وشهود عيان أن مواجهات عنيفة اندلعت في منطقة جبل مون، الواقعة على بعد نحو 74 كيلومتراً من مدينة الجنينة، استخدمت خلالها الأسلحة الثقيلة، بالتزامن مع تحليق مكثف للطيران المسيّر.
وأضافت أن القوة المشتركة دفعت بتعزيزات عسكرية وعتاد إلى مدينة كُلبس الحدودية بولاية غرب دارفور عقب سيطرتها عليها، كما عززت انتشارها في منطقة أبو قمرة بولاية شمال دارفور، وهما منطقتان تتمتعان بأهمية إستراتيجية.
وحشدت قوات الدعم السريع المزيد من قواتها داخل مدينة الجنينة، في إطار استعداداتها لصد أي محاولة تقدم للقوة المشتركة نحو المدينة.
وحسب المصادر، فإن الجيش السوداني والقوات المشتركة معه، أعادا تمركز قواتهما شرق مدينة كلبس، مع نشر وحدات عسكرية في المناطق المحيطة، في إطار الاستعدادات الميدانية لأي تطورات محتملة.
ولفتت المصادر إلى أن قوات الدعم السريع دفعت خلال الساعات الماضية بتعزيزات عسكرية كبيرة من مدينتي نيالا والنهود، إلى جانب قوات قادمة من ولاية غرب كردفان، باتجاه منطقتي جبل مون وسربا.
وتتصاعد حدة المواجهات العسكرية في إقليم دارفور خصوصا في المناطق الحدودية بولاية غرب دارفور، التي اكتسبت أهمية إستراتيجية بحكم موقعها المحاذي لتشاد، وما تمثّله من ممرات لوجستية وخطوط إمداد للأطراف المتحاربة.
وقال المتحدث باسم حكومة إقليم دارفور، أحمد إسحاق شنب، إن الجيش والقوات المشتركة المتحالفة معه، تحقق تقدماً ميدانياً، مشيراً إلى أنها تمكنت خلال الأيام الماضية من السيطرة على منطقة أبقمرة بولاية شمال دارفور، والاستيلاء على عتاد عسكري، وأسْر عدد من عناصر الدعم السريع.
وتُعد مدينة كلبس من أبرز المواقع التي يسيطر عليها الجيش السوداني والقوة المشتركة في شمال غرب الولاية، بينما تفرض قوات الدعم السريع سيطرتها على معظم مدينة الجنينة وأجزاء واسعة من ولاية غرب دارفور منذ اندلاع الحرب في أبريل 2023.
The intensity of clashes between the joint forces supporting the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces has escalated in the states of North and West Darfur over the past few hours.
Sudanese sources and eyewitnesses confirmed that violent confrontations erupted in the Jebel Moon area, located about 74 kilometers from the city of Geneina, during which heavy weapons were used, coinciding with intensive drone flights.
They added that the joint forces sent military reinforcements and equipment to the border town of Kolbus in West Darfur after taking control of it, and also strengthened their presence in the Abu Qumra area in North Darfur, both of which are strategically important regions.
The Rapid Support Forces have mobilized more of their troops inside the city of Geneina as part of their preparations to repel any attempt by the joint forces to advance towards the city.
According to sources, the Sudanese army and the joint forces have repositioned their troops east of the city of Kolbus, deploying military units in the surrounding areas as part of field preparations for any potential developments.
Sources indicated that the Rapid Support Forces have sent significant military reinforcements from the cities of Nyala and Al-Nuhud in the past few hours, along with forces coming from West Kordofan, towards the areas of Jebel Moon and Serba.
The intensity of military confrontations is escalating in the Darfur region, especially in the border areas of West Darfur, which has gained strategic importance due to its proximity to Chad and what it represents as logistical corridors and supply lines for the warring parties.
Ahmed Ishaq Shanab, the spokesperson for the Darfur regional government, stated that the army and the allied joint forces are making field progress, noting that they have managed in recent days to take control of the Abu Qumra area in North Darfur, seizing military equipment and capturing several members of the Rapid Support Forces.
The town of Kolbus is one of the most prominent sites controlled by the Sudanese army and the joint forces in the northwest of the state, while the Rapid Support Forces maintain control over most of the city of Geneina and large parts of West Darfur since the outbreak of the war in April 2023.
