أدانت الحكومة اليمنية الهجوم الذي شنته المليشيات الحوثية الإرهابية على سفينة تجارية في البحر الأحمر، معتبرةً أنه يمثل تصعيدًا خطيرًا يعكس استمرار الجماعة في تقويض الجهود الإقليمية والدولية الرامية إلى تهدئة الأوضاع، ودفع اليمن نحو صراعات لا تخدم مصالح شعبه.
وأكدت الحكومة، في بيان، أن الرد العسكري الذي نفذه تحالف دعم الشرعية جاء في إطار الجهود الرامية إلى مكافحة الإرهاب، وحماية الملاحة الدولية وتأمين الممرات البحرية، مشيرة إلى أن العملية استهدفت مواقع عسكرية مرتبطة بالتهديدات التي تشكلها المليشيات الحوثية، مع الالتزام بقواعد القانون الدولي ومبدأي الضرورة والتناسب، واتخاذ جميع الاحتياطات اللازمة لتجنب أي أضرار بالمدنيين أو البنية التحتية.
وأوضحت أن عملية الرد اتسمت بالدقة، واقتصرت على أهداف عسكرية مشروعة، مؤكدة أن الموانئ اليمنية، بما في ذلك ميناء الحديدة، واصلت استقبال السفن التجارية والمساعدات الإنسانية بشكل طبيعي، دون تسجيل أضرار، بما يضمن استمرار حركة التجارة وتدفق السلع والإمدادات الأساسية.
ورأت الحكومة اليمنية أن الهجوم الأخير يجدد، بحسب وصفها، تأكيد استخدام المليشيات الحوثية للبحر الأحمر وباب المندب كورقة ضغط لخدمة أجندات النظام الإيراني، على حساب أمن اليمن واستقراره، وسلامة أحد أهم الممرات البحرية في العالم.
وشددت على أنها ستواصل، بالتنسيق مع تحالف دعم الشرعية والشركاء الإقليميين والدوليين، اتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة لحماية المدنيين، وصون السيادة اليمنية، وتأمين الملاحة الدولية، وضمان استمرار عمل الموانئ وتدفق التجارة والمساعدات الإنسانية، إلى جانب مواجهة أي تهديد يستهدف الأمن الوطني أو الإقليمي.
وفي ختام بيانها، حملت الحكومة المليشيات الحوثية المسؤولية الكاملة عن التداعيات الإنسانية والاقتصادية والأمنية الناجمة عن استمرار هجماتها، داعية المجتمع الدولي إلى اتخاذ موقف أكثر حزمًا، عبر تشديد الضغوط على الجماعة، وتجفيف مصادر تمويلها وتسليحها، ومحاسبة الجهات الداعمة لها بما يسهم في حماية أمن المنطقة واستقرارها.
The Yemeni government condemned the attack launched by the Houthi terrorist militias on a commercial ship in the Red Sea, considering it a serious escalation that reflects the group's continued efforts to undermine regional and international efforts aimed at calming the situation and pushing Yemen towards conflicts that do not serve the interests of its people.
The government confirmed, in a statement, that the military response carried out by the Coalition to Support Legitimacy was part of efforts to combat terrorism, protect international navigation, and secure maritime passages, noting that the operation targeted military sites linked to the threats posed by the Houthi militias, while adhering to the rules of international law and the principles of necessity and proportionality, and taking all necessary precautions to avoid any harm to civilians or infrastructure.
It clarified that the response operation was characterized by precision and was limited to legitimate military targets, affirming that Yemeni ports, including the port of Hodeidah, continued to receive commercial ships and humanitarian aid normally, without any reported damages, ensuring the continuity of trade and the flow of essential goods and supplies.
The Yemeni government viewed the recent attack as a renewed confirmation, in its description, of the Houthi militias' use of the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab as leverage to serve the agendas of the Iranian regime, at the expense of Yemen's security and stability, and the safety of one of the most important maritime passages in the world.
It emphasized that it will continue, in coordination with the Coalition to Support Legitimacy and regional and international partners, to take necessary measures to protect civilians, preserve Yemeni sovereignty, secure international navigation, and ensure the continued operation of ports and the flow of trade and humanitarian aid, in addition to confronting any threat targeting national or regional security.
In conclusion of its statement, the government held the Houthi militias fully responsible for the humanitarian, economic, and security repercussions resulting from the continuation of their attacks, calling on the international community to take a firmer stance by increasing pressure on the group, drying up its funding and armament sources, and holding accountable the entities supporting it, which contributes to protecting the security and stability of the region.
