أفاد المتحدث باسم الخارجية الإيرانية إسماعيل بقائي بأنه لا وجود لأي مفاوضات مباشرة حالياً مع الولايات المتحدة، واصفاً الأنباء بأنها غير صحيحة.
وقال في مؤتمر صحفي، اليوم (الإثنين)، إن الحديث عن وقف إطلاق النار لمدة 10 أيام مجرد تخمينات إعلامية، موضحاً أن الوسطاء (ومن بينهم باكستان وقطر) يقومون بنقل الرسائل بين واشنطن وطهران، في سياق مسار دبلوماسي للحل والتوصل إلى تفاهمات.
وحمل بقائي الولايات المتحدة المسؤولية الكاملة عن الاعتداء العسكري الأخير على بلاده، وزعم أن واشنطن هي التي نقضت مذكرة التفاهم، وقال إنه «لا يمكن تنفيذ تفاهم من طرف واحد، ولهذا أوقفت طهران تنفيذ التزاماتها في المذكرة».
وأوضح أن بلاده لا تهتم بالتهديدات الأمريكية وتستمر في سعيها لحماية مصالحها الوطنية ومواصلة الدفاع عن أراضيها، مع اتباع نهج الدبلوماسية، مشدداً على تمسك إيران بموقفها الحازم بعدم السماح لأمريكا بأن تحدد زمان ومدة الحرب والسلام.
واعتبر متحدث الخارجية الإيرانية أن طهران ليس لديها عداء مع أي دولة في المنطقة.
وعلى صعيد أمن الملاحة البحرية ومضيق هرمز، أكد بقائي أنه لا يمكن السماح بتحويل مضيق هرمز إلى أداة للإضرار بالأمن القومي الإيراني، زاعما أن المسار الجنوبي في مضيق هرمز (الذي استحدثه الأمريكيون) غير آمن بسبب خصائصه الجغرافية، وأنه ينتهك البند الخامس من مذكرة التفاهم.
وكشف أن المحادثات مع سلطنة عمان مستمرة وتهدف لإنشاء آلية لإدارة الملاحة البحرية الآمنة في المضيق، مؤكداً أن هذه المفاوضات غير مرتبطة بالولايات المتحدة.
وعلى صعيد آخر، أكد بقائي أن بلاده لا تتدخل في النزاع الدائر بين روسيا وأوكرانيا، إلا أنه وجه تحذيراً شديد اللهجة لكييف، معتبراً أن استهداف أوكرانيا لسفينة إيرانية كان «مغامرة خطيرة ولن تبقى دون رد».
وأشار إلى أن من حق أي دولة عضو في معاهدة منع انتشار الأسلحة النووية الاستفادة من الطاقة النووية السلمية.
وكان السفير الإيراني لدى روسيا كاظم جلالي، أفاد بأن طهران تحتفظ بحق الرد على أوكرانيا على خلفية سقوط بحار إيراني جراء استهداف سفينة تجارية إيرانية في بحر قزوين، مشيرا إلى أن قرار الرد ستتخذه القيادة الإيرانية.
وقال في تصريح لوكالة «تاس» الروسية، رداً على سؤال بشأن احتمال اللجوء إلى عمل عسكري: إن وزير الخارجية عباس عراقجي، أكد أن إيران تحتفظ بحقها في الرد. وستُتخذ جميع القرارات في هذا الشأن، التي تصب في مصلحة بلادنا، من قبل قيادتنا.
وسبق أن أعلنت الخارجية الإيرانية في 25 يوليو، أن أوكرانيا استهدفت سفينة تجارية إيرانية في بحر قزوين، ما أسفر عن سقوط أحد أفراد طاقمها.
The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baqaei, stated that there are currently no direct negotiations with the United States, describing the news as inaccurate.
He said in a press conference today (Monday) that the talk of a 10-day ceasefire is merely media speculation, explaining that the mediators (including Pakistan and Qatar) are conveying messages between Washington and Tehran, as part of a diplomatic path towards a solution and reaching understandings.
Baqaei held the United States fully responsible for the recent military aggression against his country, claiming that Washington is the one that violated the memorandum of understanding, and stated that "a one-sided understanding cannot be implemented, which is why Tehran has halted its commitments under the memorandum."
He clarified that his country does not care about American threats and continues its efforts to protect its national interests and defend its territory, while following a diplomatic approach, emphasizing Iran's firm stance of not allowing the U.S. to dictate the timing and duration of war and peace.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson considered that Tehran has no hostility towards any country in the region.
Regarding maritime navigation security and the Strait of Hormuz, Baqaei confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz cannot be allowed to be turned into a tool to harm Iranian national security, claiming that the southern route in the Strait of Hormuz (which was created by the Americans) is unsafe due to its geographical characteristics and violates Article 5 of the memorandum of understanding.
He revealed that talks with Oman are ongoing and aim to establish a mechanism for safe maritime navigation in the strait, confirming that these negotiations are not related to the United States.
On another note, Baqaei affirmed that his country does not intervene in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, but he issued a strong warning to Kyiv, considering that Ukraine's targeting of an Iranian ship was a "dangerous adventure that will not go unanswered."
He pointed out that any member state of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons has the right to benefit from peaceful nuclear energy.
The Iranian ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, stated that Tehran reserves the right to respond to Ukraine following the death of an Iranian sailor due to the targeting of an Iranian commercial ship in the Caspian Sea, noting that the decision to respond will be made by the Iranian leadership.
In a statement to the Russian news agency "TASS," in response to a question about the possibility of resorting to military action, he said that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that Iran reserves its right to respond. All decisions in this regard, which serve the interests of our country, will be made by our leadership.
Previously, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced on July 25 that Ukraine targeted an Iranian commercial ship in the Caspian Sea, resulting in the death of one of its crew members.
