The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi emphasized his country's complete rejection of any attempts to undermine the sovereignty and stability of Arab countries, which preserves the security of the region and prevents the expansion of regional tensions.

During his meeting today (Thursday) with the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Sisi affirmed the importance of containing the current regional escalation in light of its repercussions on the stability of the region, as well as its economic and commercial impacts.

Sisi pointed to the diligent efforts made by Egypt to reduce the intensity of the current escalation, affirming in this context Cairo's supportive position for the security of the State of Qatar and all Arab countries.

According to a statement from the Egyptian presidency, the meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between Cairo and Doha, increase Qatari investments in Egypt, as well as developments in regional situations and joint coordination regarding the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

From the Egyptian side, the meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Finance, Ahmed Kouchak, and the head of the General Intelligence Service, Minister Hassan Rashad, while from the Qatari side, it was attended by Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed Al-Khalifi.

Sisi: We are keen to strengthen relations with Qatar

The Egyptian presidency spokesperson, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, stated that President Sisi welcomed the visit of the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs to Egypt and requested him to convey his greetings to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The President praised the progress and growth in Egyptian-Qatari relations, expressing his hope to continue enhancing cooperation between the two countries in various political, commercial, and investment sectors.

Sisi emphasized the importance of building on the outcomes of the Egyptian-Qatari Joint Higher Committee, which contributes to elevating the level of bilateral cooperation in various fields, while stressing Egypt's aspiration to increase Qatari investments in the country across different sectors.

The President confirmed Egypt's readiness to provide all necessary facilities for Qatari investments, which supports expanding the scope of economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.

Qatar affirms its commitment to developing relations

For his part, the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed to President Sisi the greetings of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and his appreciation for the fraternal relations that bind Egypt and Qatar.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani affirmed his country's commitment to continue working with the Egyptian side to develop bilateral relations and elevate them to broader horizons, enhancing mutual cooperation between the two countries.

Egypt-Qatar coordination to implement the ceasefire agreement in Gaza

The meeting also addressed the cooperation and coordination between Egypt and Qatar regarding the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

Both sides emphasized the necessity for all parties to adhere to their commitments under U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to cease hostilities, which contributes to establishing stability within the sector and paves the way for the swift initiation of early recovery and reconstruction efforts.

Both sides also stressed the importance of enhancing the access of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, ensuring that basic needs reach the population amid the difficult humanitarian conditions in the sector.

The two sides agreed to continue coordination and consultation between Egypt and Qatar regarding the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, as well as to continue joint efforts to maintain peace and regional stability in general.
