أعلنت قوات البحرية في الساحل الغربي لليمن، اليوم (الخميس)، إحباط هجوم إرهابي حوثي يستهدف عدداً من الجزر في البحر الأحمر، وذلك بعد ساعات قليلة من ضبط سفينة تهريب كانت تحمل معدات عسكرية إيرانية للمليشيا.
وأكد الإعلام العسكري للمقاومة الوطنية التابعة للجيش اليمني أن وحدات الرصد البحرية تعقبت خمسة زوارق حوثية حاولت الاقتراب من الجزر المحررة المطلة على خطوط الملاحة الدولية، واشتبكت معها مباشرة، ما أجبر الزوارق المهاجمة على الفرار باتجاه ساحل مدينة الحديدة.
وبيّنت أن الهجوم تزامن مع إسقاط طائرة مسيّرة كانت تقوم بمهام الاستطلاع وتأمين التغطية الجوية للزوارق الحوثية، قبل محاولتها تنفيذ الهجوم.
وذكرت القوات العسكرية أن الهجوم الحوثي جاء بعد ساعات قليلة من نجاح القوات البحرية في اعتراض سفينة تهريب تقليدية كانت تحمل معدات ومكونات تقنية تُستخدم في صناعة الطيران المسيّر، مبينة أن السفينة هُرّبت من قبل الحرس الثوري الإيراني لدعم القدرات العسكرية لمليشيا الحوثي.
ورجحت المصادر الكشف عن تفاصيل المضبوطات على متن السفينة خلال الساعات القادمة، وذلك بعد استكمال التحقيقات والتوثيق للمضبوطات.
وكان رئيس مجلس القيادة الرئاسي اليمني، الدكتور رشاد العليمي، وجّه أمس بإجراءات شاملة لمكافحة التهريب، وذلك ضمن عملية إصلاحات أوسع لحماية المنافذ السيادية، وتقويض اقتصاد الحرب ومصادر تمويل وتسليح المليشيا الحوثية الإرهابية، خلال ترؤسه اجتماع اللجنة العليا لمكافحة التهريب.
وقال العليمي: «زمن التساهل مع التهريب انتهى»، مؤكداً أن الدولة ستتخذ كافة الإجراءات لحماية التجارة المشروعة والقطاع الخاص الوطني، وستضرب بحزم كل شبكة تهريب تستنزف مواردها أو تموّل خصومها أو تهدد أمنها القومي.
The naval forces on the western coast of Yemen announced today (Thursday) the thwarting of a Houthi terrorist attack targeting several islands in the Red Sea, just hours after intercepting a smuggling ship carrying Iranian military equipment for the militia.
The military media of the National Resistance affiliated with the Yemeni army confirmed that naval reconnaissance units tracked five Houthi boats attempting to approach the liberated islands overlooking international shipping lanes, engaging them directly, which forced the attacking boats to flee towards the coast of the city of Hodeidah.
It was indicated that the attack coincided with the downing of a drone that was conducting reconnaissance missions and providing aerial coverage for the Houthi boats before they attempted to carry out the attack.
The military forces stated that the Houthi attack came just hours after the naval forces successfully intercepted a traditional smuggling ship carrying equipment and technical components used in the manufacture of drones, noting that the ship was smuggled by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard to support the military capabilities of the Houthi militia.
Sources suggested that details of the confiscated items on board the ship would be revealed in the coming hours, following the completion of investigations and documentation of the seized items.
The President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, directed yesterday comprehensive measures to combat smuggling, as part of broader reforms to protect sovereign ports and undermine the war economy and funding and arming sources of the terrorist Houthi militia, during his chairing of the Supreme Committee for Combating Smuggling meeting.
Al-Alimi stated: "The era of leniency with smuggling has ended," affirming that the state will take all necessary measures to protect legitimate trade and the national private sector, and will firmly strike every smuggling network that drains its resources, funds its adversaries, or threatens its national security.
