توج المنتخب الفرنسي لكرة القدم بلقب كأس العالم في كرة القدم للمرة الثانية في تاريخه، بفوزه على نظيره الكرواتي 4-2، في المباراة النهائية لمونديال روسيا التي أقيمت بينهما على ملعب لوجنيكي في موسكو.

وسجل ماريو ماندزوكيتش (في د 18 خطأ في مرمى فريقه) وأنطوان غريزمان (38 من ركلة جزاء) وبول بوغبا (59) وكيليان مبابي (65) أهداف فرنسا، وإيفان بيريشيتش (28) وماندزوكيتش (69) هدفي كرواتيا.


وأضاف المنتخب الفرنسي إلى سجله لقب مونديال 2018، بعد 20 عاما من تتويجه للمرة الأولى على أرضه عام 1998. أما المنتخب الكرواتي، ففشل في إحراز اللقب للمرة الأولى في تاريخه، علما أنه بلغ المباراة النهائية للمرة الأولى أيضا.

وبات مدرب المنتخب الفرنسي ديدييه ديشان، ثالث شخص في تاريخ اللعبة يحرز لقب كأس العالم كلاعب ومدرب، بعد البرازيلي ماريو زاغالو والألماني فرانتس بكنبارو. وكان ديشان قائد تشكيلة المنتخب عام 1998.

وكان ديشان يخوض النهائي الرابع من المباريات النهائية الست لفرنسا في تاريخها (كأس العالم 1998، كأس أوروبا 2000 كلاعب، كأس أوروبا 2016 ومونديال 2018 كمدرب).
