ضرب زلزال بقوة 5 درجات على مقياس ريختر، اليوم، وسط شرق البيرو.
وأفادت هيئة المسح الجيولوجي الأمريكية بأن الزلزال وقع على بعد 16 كيلومتراً غرب منطقة «تورنافيستا»، وعلى عمق 130.5 كيلومتر.
وتتعرض البيرو كل عام لـ400 هزة أرضية على الأقل، يشعر بها السكان، إذ تقع على حزام النار في المحيط الهادي، وهي نقطة نشاط زلزالي تمتد على طول الساحل الغربي للقارة الأمريكية.
A 5.0 magnitude earthquake struck today in central eastern Peru.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the earthquake occurred 16 kilometers west of the "Tornavista" area, at a depth of 130.5 kilometers.
Peru experiences at least 400 earthquakes each year that are felt by residents, as it is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, a zone of seismic activity that extends along the western coast of the Americas.
