لم يكن السطو وليد الصدفة، بل سبقه تخطيط ومراوغة من قِبل المتهمين (وهما شخصان من الجنسية السورية)، نفذا الجريمة عبر تسلسل دراماتيكي ومثير:

- خدعة السيارة المشتعلة (محاولة طمس الأدلة): بعد فرارهما من موقع الجريمة بالصيد الثمين، قاد المتهمان السيارة المسروقة إلى ساحة ترابية منزوية وقاما بإحراقها بالكامل، ظناً منهما أن ألسنة اللهب ستتولى صهر أي بصمة أو دليل مادي يربطهما بالقضية.
