أغلقت السلطات في مدينة غرناطة قصر الحمراء التاريخي إجراءً احترازيًا، بعد تعرضه لأضرار طفيفة نتيجة زلزال ضرب المدينة الإسبانية، تسبب في إصابة ثلاثة أشخاص وحدوث تصدعات وتساقط الحطام.
وقال وزير الطوارئ في إقليم الأندلس أنتونيو سانث: «إن التقييم الأولي لم يكشف عن أضرار إنشائية كبيرة في القصر أو أنه يواجه خطر الانهيار»، مشيرًا إلى تسجيل أضرار طفيفة في نطاقات محدودة لحقت بعناصر غير هيكلية، بينها التحصينات العلوية وأعمال الجص والعناصر الزخرفية.
ويُعد قصر الحمراء، المُدرج على قائمة اليونسكو للتراث العالمي، أحد أبرز معالم العمارة الإسلامية في العصور الوسطى، وقد استقبل نحو 2.7 مليون زائر خلال العام الماضي.
ووقع الزلزال، الذي بلغت قوته (4.8) درجات، عند الساعة (10:38) صباحًا بالتوقيت المحلي، وكان مركزه في بلدة أليندين، التي تبعد (10) كيلومترات جنوب غرناطة بجنوب إسبانيا، وفقًا للمعهد الجغرافي الوطني.
The authorities in the city of Granada have closed the historic Alhambra Palace as a precautionary measure after it sustained minor damage due to an earthquake that struck the Spanish city, resulting in three injuries and causing cracks and falling debris.
The Emergency Minister of the Andalusia region, Antonio Sanz, stated: "The initial assessment did not reveal any significant structural damage to the palace or that it faces a risk of collapse," noting that minor damage was recorded in limited areas affecting non-structural elements, including the upper fortifications, plaster work, and decorative elements.
The Alhambra Palace, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of the most prominent examples of Islamic architecture from the medieval period and welcomed approximately 2.7 million visitors last year.
The earthquake, which measured 4.8 on the Richter scale, occurred at 10:38 AM local time, with its epicenter located in the town of Alhendin, which is 10 kilometers south of Granada in southern Spain, according to the National Geographic Institute.
