أعلنت شركة «سبيس إكس» الأمريكية المملوكة للملياردير إيلون ماسك أمس (الثلاثاء) عن خطط لبناء «ميناء فضائي» ضخم في ولاية لويزيانا بجنوب الولايات المتحدة، بتكلفة لا تقل عن 100 مليار دولار.
ومن المقرر أن تبدأ أعمال إنشاء الموقع في 2027، وهو مصمم للتعامل مع آلاف الرحلات سنوياً بواسطة مركبات «ستارشيب» التي تطورها الشركة لإجراء رحلات إلى القمر والمريخ.
وذكر ماسك في تصريحات أن المنشأة في لويزيانا ستضم في نهاية المطاف أكثر من 12 برجاً للإطلاق، ما سيتيح إجراء أكثر من 30 رحلة لمركبة ستارشيب يومياً، و«سيجعلها أكبر موقع للإطلاق على وجه الأرض».
وأشارت الشركة على موقعها الإلكتروني إلى اعتزامها تنظيم عملية إطلاق أولية لمركبة «ستارشيب» من ولاية لويزيانا في 2029.
American company "SpaceX," owned by billionaire Elon Musk, announced yesterday (Tuesday) plans to build a massive "spaceport" in Louisiana, in the southern United States, at a cost of no less than $100 billion.
Construction of the site is scheduled to begin in 2027, and it is designed to handle thousands of flights annually using the "Starship" vehicles that the company is developing for missions to the Moon and Mars.
Musk stated in remarks that the facility in Louisiana will eventually include more than 12 launch towers, allowing for more than 30 Starship flights daily, and "will make it the largest launch site on Earth."
The company indicated on its website that it plans to conduct an initial launch of a "Starship" vehicle from Louisiana in 2029.
