According to the "New York Times," the story began when successive media reports revealed a grim reality hidden behind closed doors: a terrifying and alarming depletion of vital ammunition stocks for the U.S. military, primarily including "Patriot" and "THAAD" interceptors and long-range systems, due to ongoing engagement in the war in Iran and the raging operations in the Middle East.
The waves of leaks that caused widespread confusion prompted government investigators to launch a rapid and intensive interrogation campaign targeting generals and civilian officials representing the elite of the Joint Chiefs, which includes between 1,500 and 2,000 officials.
