In a bold move aimed at reducing daily reliance on large screens, Meta has unveiled its latest technological innovation, a compact smart device called "Muse Charm," which is no larger than an Apple AirPods case.
The new device is equipped with a 2-inch touchscreen, supports 5G networks, and connects directly to the company's artificial intelligence assistant to perform quick tasks via voice commands, such as shopping, booking appointments, and managing emails without the need to take the phone out of your pocket.
With this small device, set to launch next December, Meta is betting on ushering in a new era of "post-smartphone" devices, serving as a portable personal assistant that can be attached like a "keychain" or easily carried.
Despite the significant technological gamble that also includes the launch of advanced smart glasses without cameras, concerns about "privacy" and continuous recording remain some of the biggest challenges the company is trying to address through encryption technologies and a secret cloud to convince users to transition to this new digital experience.
