لقي شخصان مقتلهما، أحدهما طفل، وأصيب عدد آخر بجروح، إثر اقتحام مركبة ملعباً لكرة القدم أثناء إقامة مباراة في مدينة ويتشيتا بولاية كانساس الأمريكية، (السبت)، فيما أوقفت الشرطة السائق وفتحت تحقيقاً لكشف ملابسات الحادث.
وأوضحت شرطة ويتشيتا أن الحادث وقع داخل مجمع «سترايكر» الرياضي (Stryker Sports Complex)، بعدما اندفعت مركبة إلى أرض الملعب خلال مباراة لكرة القدم، ما أسفر عن وفاة طفل وشخص بالغ في موقع الحادث، ونقل عدد من المصابين إلى المستشفيات لتلقي العلاج.
بلاغات طارئة واستنفار أمني
وقالت شرطة ويتشيتا، إن خدمات الطوارئ تلقت عدة اتصالات عند الساعة 3:25 عصر (السبت) بالتوقيت المحلي، تفيد بدخول مركبة إلى أحد ملاعب كرة القدم واصطدامها بأشخاص كانوا موجودين فيه.
واستجابت فرق الشرطة والإطفاء والإسعاف للبلاغات، وبدأت تقديم المساعدة للمصابين وتأمين الموقع، وسط استنفار واسع للأجهزة الأمنية والطبية.
ولم تعلن السلطات العدد النهائي للمصابين أو طبيعة إصاباتهم، كما لم تكشف هويتي الضحيتين حتى صدور المعلومات الأولية.
توقيف السائق ووجود قاصرين داخل المركبة
وأكدت الشرطة احتجاز سائق المركبة، مشيرة إلى وجود قاصرين اثنين داخلها وقت وقوع الحادث.
ونقلت وسائل إعلام محلية عن شهود عيان أن المركبة، وهي شاحنة صغيرة سوداء، اندفعت عبر ملاعب كرة القدم المخصصة للناشئين واصطدمت بعدد من الأشخاص قبل أن تتوقف على مسافة من موقع الاصطدام الأول.
وأوضحت الشرطة أن السائق بقي في موقع الحادث، مؤكدة عدم وجود تهديد مستمر للسلامة العامة.
التحقيق في أسباب اقتحام الملعب
وتواصل السلطات الأمريكية التحقيق لتحديد كيفية دخول المركبة إلى أرض الملعب، والسرعة التي كانت تسير بها، وما إذا كان الحادث ناجماً عن فقدان السيطرة عليها أو عن تصرف متعمد.
وشددت الشرطة على أن دوافع الحادث وظروفه لم تتضح بعد، داعية السكان إلى الابتعاد عن المنطقة لإتاحة المجال أمام فرق التحقيق والطوارئ لاستكمال أعمالها.
Two people were killed, one of whom was a child, and several others were injured after a vehicle crashed into a soccer field during a match in Wichita, Kansas, (on Saturday), while police detained the driver and opened an investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident.
The Wichita police explained that the incident occurred inside the Stryker Sports Complex after a vehicle drove onto the field during a soccer match, resulting in the death of a child and an adult at the scene, and several injured individuals were transported to hospitals for treatment.
Emergency Reports and Security Alert
The Wichita police stated that emergency services received several calls at 3:25 PM (Saturday) local time, reporting that a vehicle had entered one of the soccer fields and collided with people who were present.
Police, fire, and ambulance teams responded to the reports and began assisting the injured and securing the site, amid a wide mobilization of security and medical agencies.
The authorities have not announced the final number of injured individuals or the nature of their injuries, nor have they disclosed the identities of the victims until preliminary information is released.
Driver Detained and Minors in the Vehicle
The police confirmed the detention of the vehicle's driver, noting that there were two minors inside at the time of the incident.
Local media reported from eyewitnesses that the vehicle, a black pickup truck, sped through the youth soccer fields and collided with several people before coming to a stop some distance from the initial collision site.
The police clarified that the driver remained at the scene, confirming that there was no ongoing threat to public safety.
Investigation into the Circumstances of the Field Breach
U.S. authorities continue to investigate to determine how the vehicle entered the field, the speed at which it was traveling, and whether the incident was due to loss of control or intentional action.
